I’ve always known me for being somewhat over ambitious— striving for more, better, quicker, smarter, uncomplicated, nicer, etc. of everything.
Not because I want to show off, but simply because I’ve always had an intrinsic desire to improve whatever it is that I’m doing at that point in my life.
Growing up, I was good at many different things, because i was trained to aim for the best and rejoice in the fruits of my labor.
Thats the sole reason why to date, I still find myself striving for improvement in almost every thing I do. Its just how my brain works!
With the too much “noise” all around us, on social media and all, one could easily get lost in thoughts or even side tracked. Thoughts like: I could have a quieter daughter, slay more, be perkier, more outgoing, more adventurous, exercise more, have a cleaner home, better job, be less wasteful, take better -quality photos, read more, sleep more, pray more, play more, cook more, do more, be more. Everything more!
I honestly consider myself to be a very confident person and feel extremely happy, grateful, and content with my current stage of life. Also, I’m not the kind that does anything just because others are doing it — in fact, I usually purpose to do things differently.
Do I hear the “noise”? Yes!
Does it destabilise me? No!

My remedy for such thoughts is to simply remind me (over and over again) that I am enough and I matter.
I remind me to recount and journal at least 10 things I do really well and love about me, my family, home, work, etc.
Gratitude journals have been an inexpensive yet perfect fix for me!
