Holding my princess for the very first time early last year was like nothing I could have ever imagined. After 48 hours of labour, Pfavonour entered my world. She was just perfect. She melted my heart. She has taught me the joys of parenthood and challenged me to see the world differently. She has made me a reckless lover.

Motherhood is everything wonderful and full of rewards but I’ve got to keep it real too. Mothers live the hard life; the tired life. The no time for myself kind of life. I came to admit that there’s really nothing easy about being responsible for tiny human beings, on top of adult-babies. We are in a constant battlefield, wiping noses, changing diapers, cleaning up and cultivating future stars. We are constantly being everything (spouse, sibling, child, friend, parent, and employee) to everyone and this can get our nerves to the edge. The beauty of motherhood can easily get lost in this busyness and yelling. It’s overwhelming to keep going and giving of ourselves, without ever pausing. At some point your cup shall run dry and you shall have nothing from it; to give to anyone- be it physically, emotionally or spiritually.
It’s therefore safe for me to say that most moms, whether stay-at-home or working an 8am to 5pm job; are in the struggle. The good news however, is that you’re not alone mommas. People have been there, and I was there too. That’s exactly how I was pushed to look for lasting solutions in pursuit of a simpler and more joyful motherhood. It is possible to both be present, and enjoy motherhood too. I am passionate about helping mothers stop counting down the minutes to bed time. We can all live a focused, joyful and abundant life.
