When life gives you Monday, dip it in glitter and sparkle all day.

I snoozed my alarm twice this morning and woke up late. I hustled through the horrible traffic and finally made it to work…very late! I settled in and immediately got down to business.
Time check, 12pm. I am falling short of my agenda for the day. I feel so overwhelmed and frustrated. Will I be able to complete my planned activities for the day? I give me no answer.

Time check? 1pm. The perfectionist in me successfully convinces me that its best for me to go home…because I came in late, and would not be able to accomplish the day’s tasks in the remaining few hours. I need a whole new day. The procrastinator in me is in so much agreement.

Time check, 3pm. I am home and happy. I switch off my phone to eliminate destructions because me and the baby are about to have a time of our lives. Three hours later and we are both still beaming with joy. Never seen her happier. Our play was perfect. It was a pleasure honouring her individuality and helping her be the best version of herself. This has been the most valuable use of my time today. I chose to be a fully present parent and won’t be turning back.

I have also learned to change my expectations of what i consider a productive day.

Cheers to Mondays!
